金刚砂又名棕刚玉以优质铝矾土为原料，无烟煤，铁霄，通过采用在电弧冶炼。炉2200℃以上高温中提纯、除杂、结晶、分选、破碎、磁选、筛分等加工手段制成各种颗粒尺寸的产品。其质地致密、硬度高，粒形成球状，适用于制造陶瓷、树脂高固结磨具以及研磨、抛光、喷砂、精密铸造等，还可用于制造高级耐火材料。 棕刚玉具有纯度高，结晶好，流动性强，线膨胀系数低，耐腐蚀的特点。经数十家耐火生产企业实践验证，该产品在应用过程中具有不起爆、不粉化、不开裂的特点。 产品粒度按国际标准以及各国标准生产，可按用户要求粒度进行加工。通用粒度号为F4~F320，其化学成份视粒度大小而不同。突出的特点是晶体尺寸小耐冲击，因用自磨机加工破碎，颗粒多为球状颗粒，锐石牌棕刚玉具有纯度高，质地致密，堆积密度大，自锐性强，韧性好，磁性物含量特低的特点，用其制成的磨具磨削锋利，发热率低，磨削比高，且使用时沾附少；制成的烧结磨具具有烧成后颜色深蓝、不起网状裂纹、无锈斑的特点，适用于制造陶瓷、树脂高固结磨具以及研磨、抛光等。
